GETTING TO NET ZERO
At HyHAUL Mobility, we are on a mission to make net-zero emissions a reality by harnessing the potential of hydrogen for sustainable transportation.
Hydrogen is a clean, renewable energy solution that offers a practical path to decarbonise the transport sector—one of the largest contributors to global greenhouse gas emissions.
Here’s how hydrogen mobility works and why it’s the key to achieving net-zero emissions.
WHY HYDROGEN IS ESSENTIAL FOR NET ZERO
The world is moving toward net-zero emissions to combat climate change and reduce the harmful effects of fossil fuels on our environment. While battery-electric solutions are effective for light-duty vehicles, hydrogen fuel cell technology is uniquely suited to heavy-duty, long-range, and high-energy-demand applications, including trucks, buses, trains, and maritime transport.
Hydrogen-powered transport offers:
Hydrogen is not just a fuel—it’s a clean energy solution for industries that are hardest to decarbonise, making it a vital piece of the net-zero puzzle.
HOW HYDROGEN MOBILITY WORKS
Hydrogen mobility uses fuel cell technology to power vehicles. The process is both efficient and clean, providing a seamless alternative to traditional internal combustion engines.
Here’s how it works:
Hydrogen Production
Hydrogen is typically produced through a process called electrolysis, where water is split into hydrogen and oxygen using electricity. When powered by renewable energy (such as wind or solar), this process creates green hydrogen, which is 100% carbon-free.
Hydrogen Storage
To make hydrogen vehicles a viable option, we are expanding the network of hydrogen refuelling stations across key regions. These stations will support the adoption of hydrogen-powered vehicles by providing convenient, fast refuelling options for fleets and logistics.
Hydrogen Refuelling
Refuelling a hydrogen vehicle is similar to filling up a conventional car. Hydrogen is transferred from the storage tanks at a refuelling station into the vehicle’s onboard hydrogen tank in a matter of minutes.
Electricity Generation in Fuel Cells
Inside the vehicle, hydrogen from the tank combines with oxygen from the air in a fuel cell stack. This chemical reaction produces electricity, which powers an electric motor to drive the vehicle. The only byproduct is water vapour, making this an entirely emission-free process.
Efficient Operation
The electricity generated by the fuel cell can be used immediately to power the vehicle or stored in a small battery for additional energy needs, such as accelerating or climbing hills.
THE ROLE OF HYHAUL IN NET ZERO
At HyHAUL Mobility, we provide the infrastructure and expertise needed to make hydrogen-powered transport a reality. Our efforts focus on:
Green Hydrogen
